Lookout Life makes the most efficient possible use of the Android phone's GPS receiver.
When a Locate is requested for an Android device, Lookout Life accesses GPS on to run the Locate and then discontinues access when the Locate is complete. This helps to conserve your phone's battery and means Lookout Life has no access to your device's location unless you specifically request it's location from your account at personal.lookout.com. Getting the best location results can take several minutes.
Lookout Life only uses GPS to pinpoint your location when you explicitly request it. If your GPS is enabled, that simply means that apps have the ability to utilize it. It does not mean the GPS is being used continuously or that your location is constantly being tracked.
Note: It is not possible for Lookout Life, or any other app, to enable GPS on Android devices.
