With Privacy Guard, F-Secure Mobile Security no longer needs a VPN profile active to protect you online
F-Secure Mobile Security Recently introduced Privacy Guard. This advanced level of protection not only allows us to detect and block unsafe websites with Safe Browsing, but also encrypts your DNS requests adding privacy to your online activity and preventing cybercriminals from blocking legitimate websites or redirecting you to fake, spoofed sites.
Previously, we used a VPN profile installed into iOS to allow us to monitor harmful network traffic and block these malicious sites. By no longer requiring a VPN profile to be installed, customers can use their own true VPN and we avoid conflicts with apps or services that block access if a VPN is present. Often, these are video streaming services or home camera systems.
By removing a VPN from the equation, Privacy Guard and Safe Browsing add even greater privacy protections while improving compatibility with online apps and services.
